Kindergarten

Messiah Lutheran School is currently seeking a Kindergarten teacher for the 2022-2023 school year. We look forward to seeing who God has chosen to fill this position!

Kindergarten Overview

Just about every American child goes to Kindergarten, but the Kindergarten experience varies from child to child. At Messiah Lutheran School, we recognize the importance of this year in setting the tone for a child’s outlook on learning for his/her entire life. Our focus is the development of the whole child in a nurturing, Christian environment.

Messiah’s Kindergarten is a full day program. We feel that it is important for children to be exposed to many types of positive educational experiences so that they develop a positive attitude toward learning. Students enjoy hands-on explorations, team-building activities, independent learning centers, and whole-group learning. MLS meets or exceeds the Oklahoma academic standards. Messiah stresses Christian standards regarding ethical and moral decisions.

Our kindergarten class focuses on developmentally appropriate hands-on activities to foster creative thinking and problem-solving skills. Students learn to work independently and in small groups, and social skills are enhanced through positive interactions with other students. A foundation is established through the development of a sound knowledge base and a love of learning that will serve the students well in later academic efforts.
