Pre-K Overview

Messiah Lutheran School’s Pre-Kindergarten is offered in a full-day format, during regular school hours (M-F 8:20-3:30), during the school year.

In Pre-K, children are engaged in developmentally appropriate learning. Through the use of learning centers, thematic units, music, movement, and hands-on activities, children are creatively engaged in the learning process.

Basic Christian principles are taught and made a part of each school day. Children learn what God teaches us in the Bible (Treat each other like you would like to be treated.), and focus on making good choices. The children enjoy “Jesus Time” each day, and they attend weekly chapel. Music and PE classes are also part of each school week.

Each week the children focus on a different letter of the alphabet, learning the sound(s) it makes and the correct letter formation. Children also learn colors, days of the week, months of the year, and numbers 1 through 20 in both English and Spanish. Learning centers incorporate Math, Science, Language, Reading, Art, and Music/Movement activities.
